The RainJet is a hydroejector designed to automatically clean tanks used for the temporary storage of stormwater or wastewater so that odour problems are avoided and storage capacity is maintained.
The RainJet continues flushing until the tank is completely empty and all the contents have been pumped into the sewer system. It uses the water already in the tank and hence does not need an external source of fresh water.
The RainJet is made either as a water/water (WW) or water/air (WA) ejector:
- RainJet WW with greater flow for cleaning wider tanks
- RainJet WA with jet that reaches further and is mixed with air.
The RainJet is made entirely of stainless steel of AISI 304/DIN1.4301 or AISI 316/DIN 1.4401, and is coupled to a wastewater pump of the SE or S type.
Applications
No matter what the size and layout, a customised solution of one or more RainJets can easily be designed to clean detention, equalisation or stormwater tanks used for the storage of excess water in order to minimise the risks of:
- Flooding or pollution of receiving waters if capacity of the sewer system is exceeded
- Damage of biological processes at the WWTP if untreated industrial process water arrives
- Disruption of purification processes at the WWTP due to hydraulic overload.

Grundfos TP and TPE vertical in-line volute pumps are used in a variety of applications. The pumps are all single-stage, in-line centrifugal volute pumps with standard motors and mechanical shaft seals. The pumps are of the close-coupled type, i.e. pump and motor are separate units. Consequently, the pumps are less sensitive to impurities in the pumped liquid than similar pumps of the canned rotor type.

Two different models of vertical in-line volute pumps are available. Please note that there are a number of specific product variants available for each model. Detailed information on these variants can be found in Grundfos WebCAPS.
TP pump
This pump model is notable for its high levels of reliability and efficiency. Quiet, highly-efficient IE3 motors are standard components. All TP pumps are electro-coated to ensure high corrosion resistance.
TPE pump
The main difference between TP and TPE pumps is the motor. TPE motors have a built-in frequency converter, allowing different control methods to be employed. TPE pumps offer benefits with respect to energy savings and increased comfort.
Applications
These vertical in-line volute pumps are used in commercial buildings for air conditioning and heating applications.

DWK and DPK are submersible pumps designed for dewatering and drainage applications. The cast-iron construction and the hydraulic design contribute durability and high efficiency. The differences between the DWK and DPK pump ranges lie in the discharge arrangement and the installation type. The DWK is designed with a top discharge pipe and suction strainer, and is thus more suitable for temporary installation, whereas the DPK has a side discharge and a ring-stand or auto coupling (as accessories), and is suitable for permanent installations.

Backwashing refers to the reverse-pumping of water, for example for the periodic washing of filters. Grundfos can supply pumping solutions that deliver the very strong force with well-executed flush times and speeds required for effective backwashing.

Backwashing is a form of preventive maintenance to prevent further clogging of the filter medium. Backwashing in water treatment plants is an automated process, usually run by programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
