Grundfos HS

Posted by on Saturday, 21 March, 2015

The Grundfos HS horizontal split case pump is a single-stage, non-self-priming, between bearing, centrifugal volute pump. The axially split design allows easy removal of the top casing and access to the pump components (bearings, wear rings, impeller, and shaft seal) without disturbing the motor or pipework.
The independent bearing housing allows for ease of maintenance without removing the top casing. The double volute design reduces the radial load on the shaft, extending component life, minimising vibration and providing quiet operation.

The HS pump also offers high pump efficiencies throughout the range.  High energy efficiency along with long pump life and easy maintenance add up to low life-cycle costs.
The HS pump is available in three configurations – pump with motor and baseframe, pump with baseframe, and bare shaft pump only.
The HS pump is ideal for custom applications and is available in a wide range of variants. The high efficiency and low life cycle costs make the HS ideal for any commercial building, water utility or industrial project.

Applications

Grundfos HS horizontal split case pumps are typically used in these applications:

  • Air-conditioning/heating systems
  • Public water supply
  • District cooling/heating plants
  • Cooling systems
  • Public waterworks
  • Process cooling
  • Irrigation.

Features and benefits

  • Easy to service: split case design
  • Double suction minimises axial load, which extends the life of the wear rings, shaft seals and bearings
  • Double volute reduces radial forces and minimises noise and vibration
  • Independent bearing housing design allows access to the pump components without removing the top half of the casing
  • High energy efficiency
  • Low life-cycle costs
  • Many product variants available.

Grundfos Wastewater Treatment

Posted by on Saturday, 21 March, 2015

Wastewater treatment is the process of removing contaminants from water discharged from domestic, industrial or commercial premises as well as surface run-off. Wastewater treatment typically utilises mechanical, biological, and chemical processes to remove these contaminants. Grundfos can supply a whole range of components for a complete mechanical, biological, and chemical wastewater treatment plant.

The process of wastewater treatment varies from simple tanks, relying solely on sedimentation, to the refined treatment processes with advanced biological treatment that we know today. Treatment aims at reducing the pollution contained in the wastewater such as bacteria and viruses, oxygen consuming components, nutrients, pharmaceuticals, chemical substances and heavy metals from wastewater before it is discharged to the receiving waters.

Grundfos has decades of experience developing controller and monitoring systems for pumping solutions and manufactures its own pump motors for all fluid types and flow requirements. This ensures a perfect match with hydraulics, motors, electrics, and all other mechanical components that make up a comprehensive pumping solution, ensuring the best possible efficiency point.

Control and monitoring systems increase the potential for improving both efficiency and reliability. Grundfos supplies external variable speed drives (Grundfos CUE) that are pre-programmed for the Grundfos range of products, ensuring optimal operation.

The high-efficiency motors developed by Grundfos, with or without an integrated or external variable frequency drive, meet and in some cases exceed the requirements set by motor-efficiency legislation around the world. Considering that on average 85% of a normal pump system’s Life Cycle Cost (LCC) is energy costs, switching to Grundfos pumps with high-efficiency motor technology can mean a LCC reduction of up to 50% and a reduction in environmental impact.

Grundfos offers a broad range of equipment designed specifically for wastewater handling and treatment. The sustainability of a sewage treatment plant requires that the solution is durable, ensuring cost effective and trouble-free operation. Grundfos remains with you and your solution for the duration, offering commissioning agreements to ensure correct installation and service agreements offering cover for all eventualities, from routine maintenance to spare parts.
