Grundfos GHP (Grundfos Hygienic self-Priming)

Posted by on Monday, 27 July, 2015

Grundfos’ new range of GHP (Grundfos Hygienic self-Priming) pumps takes efficiency and durability to new levels in sanitary processes.

The pumps are based on the well-known HILGE technology and are further optimised to offer reliable operation even under the tough conditions encountered in cleaning processes.

The single-stage self-priming GHP pumps combine the best of the F&B-HYGIA end-suction pumps with the reliable HILGE technology. The result is an optimised pump range that comes with increased efficiency compared to traditional side-channel pumps and can be counted on for long operational life.

One pump – More applications

Due to the robust construction of the new GHP pumps they are able to handle liquids with a high content of air as is the case in CIP return systems.

In effect, this means that the same pump can be used for product conveyance as well as for the cleaning processes. Compared to side-channel pumps, GHP pumps are also less sensitive to handling products containing particles.

Low noise operation

The GHP pumps feature a new, unique hydraulic technology that allows the impeller to be adjusted to accommodate exact duty-point requirements.

This translates into a noise level significantly lower than compared to traditional side-channel pumps.

Specially designed for sanitary applications

The all-stainless steel GHP pumps have been specially designed for trouble-free operation in sanitary processes such as:

  •  Cleaning processes (CIP return)
  •   Evacuation of tanks and pipes
  •   Pumping liquids with a high gas content
  •   Pumping liquids in Food and Beverage industries.

Grundfos DMX

Posted by on Saturday, 25 July, 2015

The Grundfos DMX range has proven its worth in dosing applications worldwide. With their robust diaphragm-based design and their high-quality motors DMX pumps require minimum maintenance and are best choice for many dosing applications. The DMX range is highly versatile: it covers a wide flow range and offers a variety of dosing head sizes, materials and accessories.

Accurate dosing – all the time

The diaphragm design ensures that the dosing flow variation is below ± 1.5 % and the linearity deviation is kept below 4 % at all times. This allows very precise dosing of your chemicals – as much as necessary, as little as possible.

Grundfos DMX

Smooth and low-pulsation dosing

The DMX series combines sophisticated drive technology and gear kinematics to ensure smooth and low-pulsation dosing without pressure peaks. This means less stress to all system components, such as tubes and valves, and leads to longer service intervals for the entire system.

Motors to match application needs

For applications with specific motor requirements, the versatile DMX range offers high-quality motors for 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 100 Hz (with Variable Frequency Drive VFD), as well as EX classified or ATEX-certified motors, if required.

Perfect material selection – for housing and liquid-wetted parts

The smaller DMX models have plastic housings offering chemical resistance and all the protection necessary for many applications. The larger models have a robust cast-aluminium housing with epoxy coating to meet all application needs. Investment costs and running costs for spare parts are kept low over the years: A wide choice of materials for dosing head, valves and accessories allow selecting exactly the degree of chemical resistance required. All liquid-wetted parts need to be resistant to the chemicals used. The diaphragm is made of NBR and PTFE-coated.

Compact design – saves money and space

DMX pumps are available in 12 different dosing head sizes. Careful design work has kept them all very compact. This saves material costs and allows placing several pumps right next to each other in confined spaces. Double-head versions (DMX models 226 and 227) offer a very cost-efficient way to save space or to dose two different chemicals. The extra capacity offered by double-head versions can also be used to gain higher flow rates for a single chemical.

Accessories ensure perfect operation of the entire system

A wide range of accessories specially designed for the DMX series help optimise performance: AR control electronics (contact signal control with multiplier and divisor function, 4-20 mA control or stroke frequency control via display and key pad, low-level/empty signal), integrated relief valve, dosing controller, diaphragm leakage detection, servomotor for automatic stroke length adjustment, PTC motors with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). We also offer system components such as pressure loading valves and pulsation dampers.

Applications

Disinfection, coagulation, flocculation, precipitation, etc. in:

  • Drinking water treatment
  • Waste water treatment
  • Pulp and paper industry
  • Textile industry
  • Cleaning water treatment
  • Food & Beverage industry, dairies
  • Cooling tower water treatment
  • Low-pressure boiler feed water treatment

Grundfos RC

Posted by on Friday, 24 July, 2015

Grundfos RC pumps are used for the circulation of liquid refrigerants in refrigeration systems.

The RC pumps have been designed and optimised for use with CO2 as a refrigerant, but can also be used with NH3 (Ammonia) and selected HFCs.

grundfos RC

The low required NPSH and the fact that no traditional loss-generating protective devices are needed can help system designers to reduce the dimensions and cost of the system. The RC pumps have an innovative design in stainless steel which makes specially suited for use with high pressure refrigerants (CO2) – the pump has only one seal between the refrigerant and ambient sides. A version with welded connections eliminates the use of counter flanges and possible leakage in flange connections.

Applications

Grundfos RC pumps are designed for the circulation of liquid refrigerant in refrigeration systems.

Features and benefits

  • Barrel-type, semi-hermetic, high-pressure design
  • Multistage centrifugal pump
  • Canned motor (no shaft seals)
  • High energy efficiency
  • Wide range for variable speed capacity control
  • Low NPSHR and robust to vapour bubbles in inlet
  • Installation and service friendly
  • Compact and low weight.

Grundfos S pumpThe Grundfos SmartSeal Auto-coupling gasket provides a completely leak-proof connection between the pump and the base unit of the auto-coupling system. The shaft seal is capable of rotating in either direction. When the pumps are installed with separate pipework, sludge sedimentation can be avoided by back-flushing the system at regular intervals.

Applications

The pumps are suitable for the following applications:

  • Transfer of unscreened raw sewage
  • Transfer of raw water
  • Pumping of water containing sludge
  • Pumping of industrial effluent.

Posted by on Wednesday, 22 July, 2015

Unilift KP pumps are submersible drainage pumps suitable for both temporary and permanent free-standing installation. They can be used for pumping drain water or grey wastewater. They are also suitable for installation in collecting tanks.

The Unilift KP is a single-stage drainage pump with semi-open impeller, designed for the pumping of drain water and grey wastewater. All Unilift KP pumps can be supplied with or without a level switch. The variants are designated as A, AV or M, for automatic or manual operation. The Unilift KP-AV variant for narrow pits is supplied with a non-return flap valve for installation in the outlet. The strainer is clipped onto the pump housing.

Grundfos Unilift KP

The Unilift KP. Single-stage, submersible, stainless steel drainage pump in a robust design with upward-pointing discharge port positioned on the top of the pump. The outer casing is made in one piece. The mains cable and the cable of the level switch are both connected to a single, vulcanized, water-tight plug which is inserted in a socket on the hermetically-sealed stator housing. The motor is a single- or three-phase synchronous canned motor with liquid-filled rotor chamber and water-lubricated bearings.

The motor is cooled by the pumped liquid flowing around it.

  • Enclosure class: IP 68

The motor incorporates automatic overload protection which cuts out the motor in the event of overload. When it has cooled to normal temperature, the motor restarts automatically.

Applications

The Grundfos Unilift KP pumps are designed for the pumping of:

  • Water and rainwater in horticulture
  • Water from rivers and lakes
  • Rainwater, drainage water and water from flooding
