Compared to a water supply system that distributes water and ensures sufficient pressure at the end-user, transporting wastewater requires a wide range of pumps to keep the wastewater moving in an environment of constantly varying pressure. Depending on topography and local regulation, a mix of gravity sewers and pressure sewerage systems may be required.

Tips Menjaga Lifetime Pompa Air Untuk Aplikasi

Pemakaian boiler amat berguna dalam proses produksi. Dari proses kerja boiler yang sederhana, terlihat feed pressure pump adalah komponen penting.

Feed pressur pump sangat menentukan tahap pengisian air untuk dipanaskan dan diubah menjadi steam. Jika terjadi permasalahan pada tahap ini, maka bias dipastikan secara otomatis boiler tidak dapat berjalan dengan selayaknya. Karena itu sangat penting untuk mengoperasikan feed pressure pump sesuai yang direkomendasikan manufacture pembuat pompa.

Grundfos sebagai salah satu manufacture pressure pump menyarankan langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan sebelum memilih dan menginstal pompa ke dalam system boiler agar membuat lifetime pompa terjaga. Berikut merupakan rumusan berlaku pada petunjuk pengoperasian pompa:

                                                            H=Pb-NPSH-Hfl-Hv-Hsf

H             =  Daya Hisap

Pb           =  Barometric Pressure

NPSH     =  Net Positive Suction Head

Hfl          =  Friction lose

Hv           =  Head temperature

Hsf         =  Safety Factor

Dari rumusan tersebut terlihat bila H mempunyai hasil positif, maka pompa tersebut berjalan normal dan begitu pula sebaliknya. Hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan untuk memaksimalkan kerja pompa antara lain:

  • Pb

Pb adalah barometric pressure dengan satuan tetap. Hal ini terjadi apabila tangki supply air bersentuhan langsung dengan athmosphere. Karena itu nilainya tetap, yaitu 10,2 m.

  • NPSH

NPSH adalah Net Positive Suction Head. Nilainya berubah-ubah sesuai cara pengoperasian kerja pompa seperti ang tertera dalam table kurva pompa. Nilainya akan naik apabila kapasitas pompa dalam kebutuhannya juga di naikan. Disarankan mengoperasikan pompa sesuai dengan duty point kerja pompa tersebut (best efficiency). Tujuanya, selain mengurangi cost akibat beban ampere yang tinggi, juga untuk menjaga lifetime pompa tersebut.

  • Hfl

Hv adalah nilai konversi dari temperature ke dalam tekanan vapour. Nilai Hv dapat saja menjadi besar apabila temperature air supply yang ada di tanki supply air menjadi naik. Ini juga menjadi salah satu variable yang harus diperhatikan mengingat pengefisiensian jumlah bahan bakar yang dipakai menjadi lebih murah dalam pembiayaan.

  • Hsf

Hsf adalah nilai safety factor yaitu antara 1 sampai 2 m.

Jika semua variable dimasukan dan hasilnya positif, maka pompa berjalan bebas dari Cavitasi. Apabila hasilnya negative, maka disarankan agar melihat kembali variable nilai mana yang bias diturunkan tanpa mengeluarkan cost yang banyak.

Bila hasilnya positif tetapi pompa masih tidak mau bekerja dengan normal, maka periksa kembali instalasi apakah pompa tersebut kemasukan steam balik atau tidak. Jaga kondisi semua persyaratan agar lifetime pompa dapat terjaga, cost lebih murah dan hasil lebih maksimal.

Grundfos Pums & Sewage Pump Use in Pulau Indah Plant, Malaysia

PULAU INDAH, MALAYSIA: The Pulau Indah sewage treatment plant is located near the North Port in Port Klang. The facility is designed for a development project catering to a population of 160,000 (P.E.). This newly developed sewerage pump system is one of the first in Malaysia where a vacuum system is used to transfer wastewater into the treatment plant. And Grundfos pumps have been used to ensure reliable and efficient pump .

The Situation
The island of Pulau Indah is located off the coast of Malaysia, not far from the country’s capital, Kuala Lumpur. The island consists of mangrove swamp overlain with sand, and the water table is located approximately 1 metre below ground level. The soil conditions at the site meant that a gravity system would be unfeasible, so instead a vacuum system was designed.

The vacuum system made it possible to install the main vacuum sewers at shallow depths and eliminated the need to have four gravity pumping stations as originally planned. Instead, a single vacuum station collects sewage from the entire development project and Grundfos pumps it to the nearby treatment plant. Designed by Iseki Vacuum Systems, the final solution reduced the initial investment cost by 40%. It also significantly reduced operation and maintenance costs for the local water authority.

The Grundfos Solution
Grundfos was chosen to deliver a total of six large-scale raw sewage Grundfos pumps. Each of the 80 kW pumps is explosion-proof and installed in a dry-pit pump house. They are rated to handle 250 l/s at 20 m head. These super-heavy-duty pumps are specifically designed to provide permanent peak efficiency and minimum downtime under the most difficult operating conditions, a fact which makes them the ideal choice for demanding applications. Here, they tie in perfectly with the vacuum system designed by Iseki.

In addition to this, Grundfos also supplied four 6 kW SR sludge recirculator Grundfos pumps. These pumps are used to recirculate wastewater from the aerobic tank to the anoxic tank at a rate of 300 l/s. Moreover, four 1.65 kW SuperVortex pumps handle return activated sludge transfer with ease.

A Few Tips When Designing Grundfos Pressure Boosting

1.      Include hot water supply in each zone – Grundfos Pressure Boosting

If the pressure boosting system is divided into zones, we always recommend that you include a hot-water production unit in each zone. Thay way, you avoid large differences in pressure betwen the hot and cold water.

2.      Always use dry-running protection ! – Grundfos Pressure Boosting

We always recommend that you add dry-running protection to your pressure boosting system. Exactly how you do this depends on the type of system. If your booster system is connected directly to the water supply, you should use a pressure sensor to monitor that there is sufficient pressure to the pump. If your system uses a break tank, use a level sensor in the tank instead.

 3.      Where should I place non-return valves ? ­- Grundfos Pressure Boosting

In systems exposed to inlet pressure-i.e. systems that are connected directly to the water supply – we recommend that you place the non-return valves after the pumps. This prevent the pressure inside the pump from becoming too low, so you avoid problems with air being sucked through the shaft seal.

If your system is subjected to suction pressure – i.e. if it is connected to a break tank – you should place the non-return valves before the pumps.

Grundfos NK/NKG Pumps

Grundfos NK/NKG pumps are used in water supply, industrial pressure boosting, industrial liquid transfer, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), irrigation and process industries.

 

 

Grundfos end-suction pumps are multi-purpose pumps suitable for a variety of different applications requiring reliable and cost-efficient supply. End-suction pumps are used in five main areas of application: water supply, industrial pressure boosting, industrial liquid transfer, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), and irrigation.

The pumps are all non-self-priming, single-stage, centrifugal volute pumps with axial suction port, radial discharge port and horizontal shaft. The Grundfos NK/NKG range comprises a complete series of long-coupled pumps that comply fully with either EN733 or ISO2858. The pumps are of the back pull-out design, enabling removal of the motor, coupling, bearing bracket and impeller without disturbing the pump housing or pipework. Even the largest pumps can thus be serviced by one person with a crane. The ISO2858 range of pumps are available with a bearing life of 100,000 hours, and Grundfos NK/NKG Pumps  can be fitted with double seals. They available in a stainless steel version as an option.
